JR PAT Testing is growing rapidly across the UK and is looking for experienced PAT Engineers who have the necessary personal equipment and insurance in place. The role is self‑employed and available in South Molton and surrounding areas.

JR PAT Testing is an expanding PAT and compliance company currently looking for engineers to join our team in South Molton. We offer flexible hours, allowing individuals to work part‑time or full‑time as self‑employed contractors. Applicants are expected to have reliable transport and the necessary equipment, hold a City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent, and demonstrate honesty, reliability, and a ‘can‑do’ attitude. All instruments, testing equipment and tools must be up‑to‑date, in good working order and compliant with relevant regulations. Roles may involve one‑day projects to long‑term contracts. Earnings are based on a pro‑rated basis dependent on the rate per appliance, the number of tests and job dynamics.

A Typical Day: As a PAT engineer, each day is varied. From hospitals to retail outlets, you will travel to different locations on your van, bringing testers, record books and other instruments. You will test appliances such as microwaves, kettles and computers, then inform users of results and explain any concerns. After completing tests you will record findings in a dedicated PAT test report book or electronic system, provide employers with a copy, and complete any required paperwork such as completion certificates and checklists.
