JR PAT Testing is growing rapidly across the UK. We are seeking experienced PAT Engineers who can provide their own equipment and insurance. Self‐employed engineers or those considering becoming self‐employed are invited to apply.

All engineers must have their own insurance and have their equipment calibrated at least once per year. In return, we provide an engineer handbook, contract for services, branded clothing, labels, and technical support.

The role offers flexible hours and can be part‐time or full‐time. The job may involve one‐day projects or long‐term contracts. Earnings are on a pro‐rata basis depending on the rate per appliance, number of tests, and job dynamics.

Applicants must have their own transport and equipment, hold a City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent, be reliable, honest, and possess a "can‐do" attitude. All necessary equipment, including testing instruments, measuring devices, and additional tools, must be maintained in good working order.

As a PAT engineer, your work will vary from hospitals to retail outlets. Each day begins with packing all necessary tools and equipment into the van. On site, you test appliances such as microwaves, kettles, and computers, using test instruments.

You record findings in a dedicated test report book or an electronic system, provide employers with copies, and fill out completion certificates and checklists. The work requires relocation between sites, staying organized and ensuring tests are completed accurately and efficiently.

Benefits include physically and mentally demanding work with variety and opportunities for advancement, as well as flexible hours and independent work.
