JR PAT Testing is an expanding PAT and Compliance company located in Romford, looking for experienced Portable Appliance Testers to work in a self‑employed capacity. Applicants may work part‑time or full‑time and will have flexible hours based on the job assignments. The role involves testing a wide variety of electrical appliances in multiple environments such as hospitals, retail outlets and corporate offices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Travel to and perform PAT testing on a range of electrical appliances.
  • Operate test instruments, record findings and maintain accurate reports.
  • Provide clear explanations of results and recommend remedial actions.
  • Complete necessary paperwork such as completion certificates and checklists.
  • Stay organised and ensure all tests are completed efficiently and accurately.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Self‑employed status and own insurance.
  • City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience validated against the C&G standard and ability to demonstrate competence.
  • Own calibrated testing equipment (to be calibrated at least once a year).
  • Reliable and honest with a ‘can‑do’ attitude.
  • Commuting distance within Romford or nearby; national availability accepted.

Location & Pay:

  • Romford, London E14 (commutable area) with national travel allowances.
  • Pro‑rate earnings based on rate per appliance, number of tests and job dynamics.
