JR PAT Testing is growing rapidly across the UK and is looking for experienced PAT Engineers with their own equipment and insurance. If you are self‑employed or wish to become self‑employed, we would love to hear from you.

Employment type: Self‑employed.

Education level: City & Guilds 2377 or equivalent.

Experience: Proven competence in line with the C&G.

Location: Willesden Junction and commutable areas.

Commute: Reasonable distance to Willesden Junction; national coverage acceptable.

Salary: Pro‑rated based on rates per appliance and job dynamics; discussed when booking a job.

Job Description: As a PAT engineer you will conduct portable appliance testing across a range of sites including hospitals, retail outlets, and offices. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Packing and transporting testing equipment
  • Performing tests on appliances such as microwaves, kettles and computers
  • Recording results
  • Communicating findings to clients
  • Providing completion certificates and checklists
  • Ensuring all equipment is up to date and calibrated annually

Additional responsibilities include maintaining reliable and honest client relations, demonstrating a can‑do attitude, and keeping up-to-date with relevant regulations and safety standards. We provide an engineer handbook, a contract for services, branded clothing, labels and technical support. All engineers must have their own insurance and must have their equipment calibrated at least once a year.
