JR PAT Testing is an expanding PAT and compliance company based in Wembley Central. We recruit self‑employed PAT engineers to conduct portable appliance testing on a variety of sites including hospitals, retail outlets and office buildings. The role offers flexible hours and the opportunity to work part‑time or full‑time, with compensation based on the number of tests and job scope. All engineers must provide their own insurance, keep their equipment calibrated at least once a year, and adhere to relevant safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Travel to client sites and perform portable appliance testing of electrical equipment such as microwaves, kettles, computers and other household appliances.
- Use approved test instruments to assess safety and report findings.
- Inform users of results and advise on any appliance that is unfit for use.
- Record findings in a PAT test report book or electronic system and provide copies to employers.
- Complete required paperwork including completion certificates and checklists.
- Maintain testing equipment in good working order and in compliance with industry regulations.
- Manage time effectively to meet client schedules and deliver accurate, detailed reports.
Qualifications
- City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent.
- Self‑employed status with valid insurance and calibrated testing equipment.
- Reliable, honest and customer‑focused attitude.
- Proven ability to travel within a reasonable distance of Wembley Central; national coverage is acceptable.
