JR PAT Testing is an expanding PAT and Compliance Company located in Leyton, UK, looking for experienced PAT Engineers to work on a self‑employed basis. All engineers are required to have their own insurance, hold a City & Guilds 2377 qualification or equivalent, and keep testing instruments calibrated at least once a year. Responsibilities:
- Conduct portable appliance testing on a variety of premises, including hospitals, retail outlets and offices.
- Use appropriate test instruments to assess electrical safety and determine whether appliances require repair, replacement or can remain in use.
- Record findings accurately in a PAT test report book or electronic system.
- Provide completion certificates, checklists and brief users on the results and any necessary actions.
- Maintain testing equipment, ensuring it is kept up‑to‑date, in good working order and meets regulatory standards.
- Travel to sites within Leyton or at a reasonable commuting distance and, if required, to other national locations.
Qualifications:
