Job Description: As a PAT engineer, you will perform portable appliance testing on a variety of sites, including hospitals, retail outlets, and other workplaces. Your responsibilities include:
- Transporting and maintaining all testing equipment and record books
- Conducting tests on appliances such as microwaves, kettles, computers, and other electrical items to ensure safety compliance
- Informing users of test results and explaining reasons for any issues found
- Recording findings in a dedicated PAT test report book or on an electronic system, and providing employers with copies of reports and completion certificates
- Ensuring all equipment is calibrated at least once a year and kept in good working order in line with regulations
- Managing time between multiple sites efficiently and staying organised throughout the day
