JR PAT Testing is a rapidly growing PAT and compliance company based in Fulham. We are looking for self‑employed PAT engineers to join our team. Contracts are flexible, allowing part‑time or full‑time working hours, and are billed on a pro‑rated basis depending on the number of appliances tested and the duration of the job.

All candidates must:

  • have valid City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or an equivalent;
  • carry their own testing equipment, keep it calibrated at least annually;
  • have appropriate insurance;
  • be available for short‑term projects and longer contracts.

Candidates who travel from a reasonable commuting distance in Fulham or nearby areas are welcome to apply. Compensation is discussed at the time of job booking and is not fixed; we provide branding, test records, and technical support.

As a PAT engineer you will travel to a variety of sites – from hospitals and small retail outlets to schools and office buildings – and perform safety testing of household appliances such as microwaves, kettles, computers, and other electrical equipment. A day usually starts with packing your toolkit (testers, record books, calibration certificates) into the van. On site you will carry out the tests, advise the client on the results, and provide completion certificates or paperwork as required. All findings are recorded in a dedicated PAT test report or entered into an electronic system. Accurate record keeping, clear communication and meticulous attention to the test procedures are essential. The role demands both physical and mental stamina as you move between sites throughout the day.

Key Qualifications

  • Qualifications: City & Guilds 2377 PAT or equivalent.
  • Equipment: Own calibrated testing instruments and record books.
  • Insurance: Valid professional liability insurance.
  • Location: Fulham or reasonable distance; ability to commute.
  • Experience: Proven competence in line with City & Guilds 2377.
  • Payment: Flexibility for part‑time or full‑time engagements; rates discussed per job.
