Job Description: As a PAT Engineer you will work for JR PAT Testing on a flexible, self‑employed basis, either part‑time or full‑time, mainly based in Friern Barnet but with opportunities across the UK.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting portable appliance testing at various sites such as hospitals, retail outlets, offices and other premises.
- Using a range of test instruments to verify electrical safety of appliances such as microwaves, kettles and computers.
- Recording test results in a PAT test report book or electronic system and providing employers with a copy.
- Providing completion certificates, checklists and explaining findings to users.
- Maintaining up‑to‑date testing equipment and ensuring all tools meet regulatory requirements.
- Traveling to multiple sites in a day, organising the work efficiently and keeping the van fully stocked with testers and record books.
This role provides potential earnings on a pro‑rata basis depending on the number of tests, the rate per appliance and the job dynamics.
