JR PAT Testing is growing rapidly across the UK, and we would love to speak with you if you are an experienced PAT Engineer with the equipment and insurance in place. If you are already self‑employed or considering becoming self‑employed, we would like to hear from you. Our onboarding process starts with a friendly conversation. All our engineers are to have their own insurance and their equipment calibrated at least once a year. In return, alongside our engineer handbook, contract for services, branded clothing and technical support, we supply labels.

JR PAT Testing is an expanding PAT and Compliance Company currently looking for engineers to join our team in Camden. We offer self‑employed positions with flexible hours, allowing interested individuals to work either part‑time or full‑time. Applicants must be able to travel reasonably to Camden or within the commutable area. Jobs range from one‑day projects to long‑term contracts. Earnings are pro‑rated based on the rate per appliance, the number of tests and job dynamics, and are discussed when a job is booked.

Responsibilities:
  • Travel to various sites such as hospitals, retail outlets, and other workplaces to conduct portable appliance testing (PAT).
  • Use a range of test instruments to check the safety of electrical items and determine whether they are fit for continued use or require repair/replacement.
  • Inform users of results and explain any findings that indicate an appliance is unfit for use.
  • Record findings accurately either in a dedicated PAT test report book or electronically, and provide employers with a copy.
  • Complete required paperwork such as completion certificates and checklists.
  • Maintain all testing equipment, ensuring it is kept up‑to‑date, in good working order, and meets relevant regulations.
  • Plan and organise daily routes efficiently, ensuring that all tests are completed accurately and on time.

  • City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent.
  • Reliable, honest and dependable with a 'can‑do' attitude.
  • Proven competence in line with the City & Guilds standard.
