JR PAT Testing is growing rapidly across the UK, and we would love to speak with you if you are an experienced PAT Engineer with the equipment and insurance in place. All our engineers are to have their own insurance and their equipment calibrated at least once a year. In return, along with our engineer handbook, contract for services and branded clothing, we supply labels and technical support.

JR PAT Testing is an expanding PAT and Compliance Company currently looking for engineers to join our team in Bermondsey. We offer self‑employed positions with flexible hours, allowing interested individuals to work either part‑time or full‑time. Although we understand that some may travel farther afield, we require that all applicants have a reasonable commuting distance of Bermondsey or closer. This role offers potential earnings on a pro‑rata basis depending on the rate per appliance, the number of tests and job dynamics. Responsibilities:
- Pack all necessary tools and equipment for each job, including testers, record books, and protective gear.
- Travel to a variety of sites, such as hospitals and retail outlets, and conduct PAT testing on appliances such as microwaves, kettles, computers, and other electrical items.
- Use appropriate test instruments to assess electrical safety and determine whether appliances can continue to be used or need replacement or repair.
- Inform users of test results and explain the safety status of each appliance.
- Record findings in dedicated PAT test reports or electronic systems and provide employers with copies of the reports.
- Complete additional paperwork such as completion certificates and checklists as required.
- Remain organised and ensure all tests are completed accurately and efficiently while moving between sites.
