JR PAT Testing is a rapidly growing PAT and Compliance Company across the UK, now looking for experienced PAT Engineers in Liverpool and commutable areas. The role is self‑employed, with flexible hours to suit part‑time or full‑time work. Engineers are required to have their own insurance and calibrated equipment, and will receive an engineer handbook, contract, branded clothing, labels and technical support.
Responsibilities
- Travel to a variety of locations (hospitals, retail outlets, offices, etc.) to conduct Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on electrical items such as microwaves, kettles, computers and other appliances.
- Use test instruments to check the safety of each appliance, determine whether it is fit for continued use or requires repair/replacement.
- Inform users of test results, explain findings and provide recommendations.
- Record findings in dedicated PAT test reports or electronic systems and prepare completion certificates and checklists.
- Maintain and update all testing instruments, measuring devices and tools to meet relevant regulations and keep them in good working order.
- Manage time and logistics efficiently when moving between sites, ensuring all tests are completed accurately and within required timeframes.
