JR PAT Testing is growing rapidly across the UK and is looking for experienced PAT Engineers who have the necessary equipment and insurance. We welcome self‑employed engineers and those considering becoming self‑employed.
Our onboarding process starts with a friendly conversation. All engineers must maintain their own insurance and have their equipment calibrated at least once a year. In return, we provide an engineer handbook, a contract for services, branded clothing, tags, and technical support.
We offer self-employed positions with flexible hours, allowing candidates to work part-time or full-time in Portsmouth. Candidates must have a reasonable commute from Portsmouth or be willing to travel nationally.
The role offers earnings on a pro‑rate basis, dependent on the rate per appliance, the number of tests, and the nature of the job. Projects range from one‑day assignments to long‑term contracts, and details are discussed at the time of booking.

You inform users of the results, record findings in a dedicated PAT test report book or an electronic system, and provide employers with copies.
