JR PAT Testing is an expanding PAT and Compliance Company looking for engineers to join our team in Herne Hill. We offer self-employed positions with flexible hours, allowing interested individuals to work part-time or full-time. Applicants must have a reasonable commuting distance to Herne Hill or be willing to travel nationally. Potential earnings are pro-rata based on the rate per appliance, number of tests, and job dynamics. Jobs range from one-day projects to long-term contracts; we discuss details to find the best fit.

To apply, you must have transport to work and hold a City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent, be reliable and honest, and demonstrate a “can-do” attitude. All necessary equipment, including testing instruments, measuring devices, and additional tools, must be kept up-to-date, in good working order, and meet relevant regulations.

As a PAT engineer, no two days are the same. You will work across locations such as hospitals and retail outlets. Your day starts with packing your tools and equipment – testers and record books – into the van for the first job. You will then test appliances (microwaves, kettles, computers, etc.), use test instruments to check safety, and inform users of results. You’ll record findings in a PAT test report book or electronic system and provide employers with a copy. Additional paperwork may include completion certificates and checklists. Throughout the day you’ll move between locations, alone or with a team. Organisation and accuracy are essential to complete tests efficiently. Success requires skill, experience, and patience, but rewards include helping keep workplaces safe and developing your expertise.

You will be part of a supportive team that values well-being, offers friendly staff support, and provides family-like camaraderie. Our staff are friendly and the company provides support during personal issues, with care from the owner and colleagues.
