JR PAT Testing is a rapidly growing PAT and Compliance Company across the UK. We are looking for experienced PAT Engineers who are self‐employed or who are interested in becoming self‐employed, and who have their own insurance and equipment calibrated annually. The role is based in Weymouth and offers flexible, self‐employed work with part‐time or full‐time options. The position offers potential earnings on a pro‐rata basis depending on the rate per appliance, number of tests and job dynamics. Jobs range from one‐day projects to long‐term contracts.
Responsibilities
- Use PAT testing instruments to test a wide range of portable electrical appliances (e.g., microwaves, kettles, computers).
- Inform users of the results and explain why particular appliances may be unfit for use.
- Record findings in a dedicated PAT test report book or electronic system and provide employers with a copy.
- Complete additional paperwork such as completion certificates and checklists.
- Travel between sites, maintaining good organisation and ensuring all tests are completed accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Hold a City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or an equivalent.
- Own suitable transport and testing equipment, kept up‐to‐date, in good working order and meeting relevant regulations.
- Reliable, honest and possessing a 'can‐do' attitude.
- Proven competence with City & Guilds 2377 standards.
