JR PAT Testing is an expanding PAT and Compliance Company expanding rapidly across the UK. We are looking for experienced PAT engineers with the equipment and insurance in place to work as self‑employed contractors in the Boston area. All engineers are required to have their equipment calibrated at least once a year, hold the City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent, be reliable and honest and demonstrate a ‘can‑do’ attitude. In return, we supply a comprehensive engineer handbook, a contract for services, branded clothing, labels and technical support to all contractors.

Job Description

Work involves travelling to a variety of sites such as hospitals, retail outlets and other workplaces. On each assignment you will:

  • Pack your testing tools, record books and other required equipment.
  • Conduct PAT tests on appliances such as microwaves, kettles, computers and other electrical items.
  • Check items against relevant safety regulations and determine if they are fit for use or need repair/replacement.
  • Inform users of results and explain the significance of any defects or unsafe conditions.
  • Record findings in either a dedicated PAT test report book or an electronic system and provide employers with copies.
  • Complete any additional paperwork, such as completion certificates and checklists, as required.

Day‑to‑day tasks are varied, demanding physical mobility and organizational skills to ensure accurate and efficient completion of all tests.

  • Self‑employment legal status and liability insurance.
