JR PAT Testing is growing rapidly across the UK and we are looking for experienced PAT Engineers who have the necessary equipment and insurance. We welcome self‑employed candidates or those considering becoming self‑employed. All engineers must have their own insurance and calibrate equipment at least once a year. In return, we provide an engineer handbook, a contract for services, branded clothing, labels, and technical support.

Job Description:

JR PAT Testing is an expanding PAT and compliance company seeking engineers to join our team in Burgess Hill. Positions are flexible and can be part‑time or full‑time. The role offers diverse projects ranging from one‑day jobs to long‑term contracts. Earnings are pro‑rated based on the rate per appliance, number of tests, and job dynamics.

Applicants must have reliable transport, a valid City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent, a reliable and honest attitude, a “can‑do” mindset, and maintain up‑to‑date testing instruments and tools in good working order. This role communicates test results to users and explains any deficits in appliance safety.

Typical Day:

As a PAT engineer, each day starts with packing the van with testers and record books. You will pack all needed equipment, travel to the first site, perform PAT on appliances such as microwaves, kettles, and computers, and determine if they are safe to use. After testing, record findings in a dedicated test report book or electronic system and provide employers with copies. Additional paperwork like completion certificates and checklists may be required. Throughout the day, you will move between sites, manage time, organize tests and ensure accurate and efficient completion.
