To support the Preconstruction team in delivering compliant, coordinated, and competitive tender submissions.
Responsible for:
- Providing operational, technical, and coordination support throughout the tendering process, from receipt of tender information through to tender handover to delivery teams.
Working relationships:
- Key working relationship with the bid team, including Estimators, Bid Operational manager, Proposals manager, Senior planner, Engineering department, buying department, and Plant department.
Key result areas:
- Technical tender development: Supports the preparation of accurate and coordinated technical tender inputs, including construction programmes, logistics plans, and methodologies.
- Tender planning and organisation: Develops and updates tender programmes and supporting information in line with estimating and engineering inputs, while maintaining well-organised tender documentation and addenda records.
- Coordination, communication, and client interaction: Communicates clearly with internal teams, supply chain partners, and clients to support efficient tender development and positive working relationships.
- Professional approach and development: Demonstrates a professional, proactive attitude and continues to develop technical knowledge, systems understanding, and preconstruction skills.
Key tasks:
- Manage and maintain tender information flow, including filing and organising tender documentation on internal systems, and tracking and assigning addenda.
- Assist in monitoring and updating the tender/workload register, and chasing tender outcomes.
- Review tender enquiries with the preconstruction and estimating teams and support the tender review process prior to submission.
- Assist in coordinating and developing operational tender inputs, including programmes, logistics plans, methodology, and technical information.
- Assist with the production and coordination of tender methodologies and processes.
- Provide technical and methodology information to support the engineering department during tender development.
- Identify potential risks or opportunities within tenders.
- Develop and update tender programmes, including resource/labour allocations (with support where required).
- Liaise with the estimating team to ensure methodology and programme align with pricing assumptions.
- Assist estimators with labour outputs and specialist subcontractor requirements.
- Engage with subcontractors for specialist logistics and programme information.
- Engage with the buying team where specialist materials are required.
- Familiarity with Asta Powerproject, or similar planning software.
- Some experience or awareness of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
- Exposure to preconstruction, engineering, or site-based roles.
- Experience within Civils/Infrastructure/Groundworks preferred.
- 2 β 4 yearsβ experience in a related construction role.
