I have been retained by a well-established main contractor who operate within the Residential, Commercial and Educational sectors. They are actively looking for a Technical Manager to join their growing team. The role includes primary responsibility for design management and co-ordination of all technical aspects of projects from planning approval through to project completion. Duties will include reviewing design compliance, design e􀆯iciency, buildability and developing value engineering opportunities with the commercial and operation teams. Responsibilities: * Managing external design consultants and specialist subcontractors with Design * Responsibilities, ensuring delivery against the brief within set timescales and budget * Reviewing consultant and specialist designs to include the viability of o􀆯-site production and alternative methods of construction * Assisting with the appointment of external consultants and manage their performance * Leading on the production and management of scopes of works, appointment documents, technical programmes, collateral warranties, references and fee proposals * Assist with developing project specific contractors proposals * Chair Design Team meetings and workshops to ensure consultant designs are fully co-ordinated and deliver efficient solutions across the board. * Co-ordinate and manage information required to discharge planning conditions, liaise with design team to collate submission packs * Co-ordinate and manage information required to discharge building regulation and warranty provider conditions * Co-ordinate and manage any party wall project specific agreements The candidate – key requirements * Degree / Higher Diploma qualification in Architecture / Engineering or equivalent, minimum 5 years post qualification experience * High rise experience in the design and detailing of residential schemes, previous developer or design build main contractor experience required * A strong knowledge and understanding of the latest building regulations and standards * Ability to co-ordinate and deliver demanding design programs * Excellent communication skills
