About the Role

We are looking for reliable, hands‑on Skilled Operatives to join our busy precast concrete manufacturing facility in Skelmersdale. You’ll be working as part of a production team creating high‑quality precast concrete units for major construction and infrastructure projects. This is a physical, fast‑paced role suited to someone who is practical, safety‑conscious, and confident working with tools, machinery, and technical instructions.

Key Responsibilities of a Skilled Operative

  • Assisting in the production of precast concrete units to required specifications
  • Reading and working from basic measurements (must be able to read a tape measure accurately)
  • Preparing moulds, shutters, and reinforcement cages
  • Pouring, levelling, compacting, and finishing concrete
  • Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet factory standards
  • Using hand tools, power tools, and factory equipment safely
  • Supporting loading/unloading of materials and finished units
  • Keeping work areas clean, organised, and compliant with health & safety procedures
  • Working closely with supervisors and production teams to meet daily targets
  • Reporting defects, issues, or hazards promptly
  • Basic joinery or shuttering experience - HIGHLY DESIRABLE
  • Forklift licence or experience operating factory machinery - HIGHLY DESIRABLE
  • Previous experience in precast, concrete production, or construction manufacturing - Desirable
