Spearheading the JRL Group from the outset, J Reddington Ltd have been an industry leading groundwork and concrete frame specialist for over two decades. Building on a proven track record to date, the company is now increasingly being called upon to deliver solutions on large projects in London and the South East.
We are looking to recruit a design manager with responsibility for the concrete frame and ground works elements of the JRL Group projects based in Borehamwood.
We are looking for:
- A highly motivated individual looking for a challenging career within the construction industry
- Some knowledge of concrete frame construction
- Ability to read engineers structural drawings, architect, façade and MEP drawings
- Good skills in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft office
- Communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational skills
- Fluent English Language skills are required
- Be able to work as part of a team or on own initiative when required
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Possess or working towards Civil/Structural Engineering qualification
The Role includes but is not limited to the following:
- Lead and manage the structural engineering design from project commencement through to completion
- Lead technical workshops with relevant consultants and internal supply chain, monitor tasks to ensure they are closed out
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architecture, geotechnical, façade and MEP
- Plan and implement innovative solutions contributing to safe systems of work
- Plan the construction activities and prepare an information release schedule to ensure the timely supply of construction information
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of drawings to comply with project requirements
- Report any blockers or late information to the relevant stakeholders
- Ensure designs such as temporary works are code compliant and incorporated with the permanent works
- Provide technical support during construction, including site inspections and solutions for NCRs
- Review and comment on specialist subcontractor information where necessary
- Prepare technical reports and submittals
