Trent Precast are looking for a practical and detail-oriented Remedial Operative to join their production team on a permanent basis. This role is essential in ensuring finished precast concrete units meet quality standards by carrying out remedial and finishing works prior to dispatch. Previous experience in precast concrete, construction, or finishing works is essential.
Key Responsibilities of Remedial Operative:- Carry out remedial and finishing works on precast concrete units to bring them up to required quality standards.
- Repair surface defects such as chips, air holes, cracks, and blemishes using appropriate materials and techniques.
- Grind, fill, sand, and finish concrete surfaces to a high standard.
- Work from drawings, specifications, and quality reports to complete remedial tasks accurately.
- Ensure repaired units meet visual and dimensional quality requirements.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and finishing equipment safely and correctly.
- Maintain clean and tidy working areas at all times.
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Work closely with quality inspectors, production teams, and supervisors to meet production schedules.
- Previous experience in remedial works, precast concrete, construction, or similar environments is ESSENTIAL.
- Good attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality finishes.
- Basic understanding of concrete repairs or finishing techniques.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instruction.
