An exciting opportunity has arisen within one of JRL Group's key divisions; Trent Precast Concrete Ltd. The JRL Group is a highly successful, privately owned, national construction group headquartered in North London. Trent Precast specializes in the manufacture and delivery of structural precast concrete units based in the heart of the country in Nottingham.

Hours: 06.30am - 16.30pm, Monday to Friday. Interview will be held on site, you must have the right to work in the UK.

Thames Reinforcements Ltd are a market leader within the steel industry offering a range of services including cut & bent reinforcement, pre-fabrications cages, mechanical splicing and barcoding & tracking. Welders will receive full training in the MIG welding of reinforcing steel. Welders will be trained to safely perform: Tack welds, Tee and lap fillet welds, Semi-structural welds. Welders will also be trained how to safely set up and operate a MIG welding machine, how to change gas cylinders, change wire coils and general operator maintenance.

Trainees will learn how to interpret welding procedure specifications (WPS), how to spot and rectify weld defects and how to work as part of a team to fabricate large steel cages for the construction industry.

Responsibilities
  • To produce welded prefabricated reinforcement cages in factory conditions.
  • Working under supervision, carry out necessary duties to cut, bend and fabricate steel reinforcement cages.
  • Efficient and effective working, ensuring that waste of any kind is minimized.
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards are complied with and improvements are suggested.
  • Ensure a high quality of work.
  • Ensure you are on time and attend work every day as agreed in the contract terms.
  • Good communication. Need to speak basic English.
  • Self-motivated.
  • "Can do" personality with a keen desire to succeed.
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a relevant industry would be advantageous.
