An exciting opportunity has arisen within one of JRL Group's key divisions; Trent Precast Concrete Ltd. The JRL Group is a highly successful, privately owned, national construction group headquartered in North London. With a turnover of in excess of £360m, the business is currently experiencing growth and as such seeks to strengthen our Precast team. Trent Precast specializes in the manufacture and delivery of structural precast concrete units based in the heart of the country in Nottingham.
About the Role
We are looking for reliable, hands-on Skilled Operatives to join our busy precast concrete manufacturing facility in Skelmersdale. You’ll be working as part of a production team creating high-quality precast concrete units for major construction and infrastructure projects. This is a physical, fast-paced role suited to someone who is practical, safety-conscious, and confident working with tools, machinery, and technical instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the production of precast concrete units to required specifications
- Reading and working from basic measurements (must be able to read a tape measure accurately)
- Preparing moulds, shutters, and reinforcement cages
- Pouring, levelling, compacting, and finishing concrete
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet factory standards
- Using hand tools, power tools, and factory equipment safely
- Supporting loading/unloading of materials and finished units
- Keeping work areas clean, organised, and compliant with health & safety procedures
- Working closely with supervisors and production teams to meet daily targets
- Reporting defects, issues, or hazards promptly
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings - HIGHLY DESIRABLE
- MUST BE ABLE TO READ A TAPE MEASURE - ITS A MUST HAVE
- Basic joinery or shuttering experience - HIGHLY DESIRABLE
- Forklift licence or experience operating factory machinery - HIGHLY DESIRABLE
- Previous experience in precast, concrete production, or construction manufacturing - Desirable
