JRL Group's East Midlands offsite manufacturing facilities, conveniently located adjacent to the A1 in Carlton on Trent, between Retford and Newark.

Location: Carlton-on-Trent, Newark (NG23)

Pay Rate: Competitive rate

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week (Permanent)

About the Role

JRL Modular is recruiting for a Materials Controller to join our team. This is a dynamic, split role—you will be spending your day managing our stock inventory systems in the office and working physically on the shop floor to keep our production lines moving.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Management: Keep our COINS stock database fully up to date by processing Goods Received Notes (GRNs) daily.
  • Inventory Control: Conduct regular physical stock takes and perpetual counts to ensure system accuracy.
  • Investigate Variances: Identify any stock errors, find out why they happened, and write up detailed variance reports.
  • Protect Production: Proactively cross-check stock levels against upcoming production schedules to stop material shortages before they cause downtime.
  • Supplier Chasing: Actively communicate with suppliers to make sure our deliveries are arriving on schedule.

What We Need From You

  • Experience: Previous background in a Materials Control, Technical Stores, or Inventory Planning role (Manufacturing or Construction experience is a massive plus).
  • Skills: A solid understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and standard stock control procedures.
  • IT Literacy: Proficient with MS Excel and computerised stock systems (if you know COINS or SAP, that’s an instant advantage).
  • Mindset: Highly organised, attentive to numerical data, and proactive with a 'can-do' approach.
