State of the art manufacturing facility based near Newark and conveniently located adjacent to A1.

JRL Group's East Midlands offsite manufacturing facilities, conveniently located adjacent to the A1 in Carlton on Trent, between Retford and Newark.

JRL Modular are currently recruiting for a Line Leader to join their growing team in the PUC’s (Prefabricated Utility Cupboards) area.

The JRL Group encompasses 14+ divisions delivering bespoke solutions for complex construction projects across the UK.

With a turnover exceeding £900m, this is an excellent opportunity to join a well‑established and fast‑paced business.

  • Working Hours
  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm

Role Overview

The Line Leader plays a key role in the day‑to‑day running of the production team.

This is a hands‑on position, responsible for leading, motivating, and supporting a small team to meet production targets safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of operatives
  • Drive team performance to meet production targets and deadlines
  • Support and develop team members to maintain high standards
  • Planning & Organisation
  • Organise daily workloads to ensure efficient production
  • Conduct daily team briefings and monitor attendance
  • Ensure the team has the tools and materials required for each shift
  • Communication & Reporting
  • Communicate clearly with team members and management
  • Provide updates on progress and escalate any issues promptly
  • Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure all work meets required quality standards
  • Follow ISO procedures and support continuous improvement
  • Assist in resolving technical or production issues
  • Health & Safety
  • Promote a strong health & safety culture
  • Ensure correct use of PPE at all times
  • Report incidents and near misses
  • General Duties
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment
  • Support training and development within the team
  • Complete administrative tasks as required

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a team leader / supervisory role within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate and manage a team effectively
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Experience within construction, manufacturing, or a related industry
  • Plumbing or mechanical background (advantageous but not essential)
