Are you ready to be the driving force behind fleet safety and compliance in one of the UK's most dynamic construction logistics operations? JRL Group is seeking a proactive and detail-driven HGV Compliance Manager to lead our efforts in building a robust safety culture and ensuring operational excellence across our national fleet.
Based in Borehamwood, you will play a vital role in managing compliance for a fleet that includes low loaders, tractor units, articulated trailers, vans, and company cars, helping us deliver on time - safely and legally.
Your Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with DVSA, FORS, and other applicable transport legislation.
- Maintain meticulous records for inspections, servicing, MOTs, and licences.
- Monitor tachograph data, driver hours, and vehicle telematics to ensure compliance and optimise performance.
- Conduct internal audits and ensure complete readiness for external regulatory inspections.
- Lead the promotion of a safety-first culture, working closely with drivers and department heads to embed best practice.
- Support and monitor driver training, ensuring alignment with company policies and safety protocols.
- Collaborate across departments to drive improvements in fleet safety, environmental standards, and compliance strategy.
- Stay ahead of changes in transport regulations and advise senior management proactively.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven experience in HGV compliance, transport operations, or fleet management - preferably in logistics or construction.
- Comprehensive understanding of HGV regulations, maintenance regimes, and safety legislation.
- Track record managing large mixed-use fleets, including low loaders and articulated vehicles.
- A passion for promoting a positive safety culture and continuous improvement.
- CPC certification and Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (preferred).
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with systems such as Webfleet, Fleetcheck, R2C, and Tachomaster.
