McMullen Façades is a leading unitised specialist façade contractor providing full design, fabrication and installation of unitised panels for medium and large scale building projects. We are seeking Fabricators to join our team based in Carlton-on-Trent. Competitive rate. Hours are 7:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
The successful applicants will:
- Interpret and understand work instructions, including work packages and technical drawings.
- As part of a team or individually, assemble windows, unitised and stick curtain walling, roof-lights and doors to the required specifications as per system supplier’s requirements ensuring good working practices.
- Operate workshop machinery, including overhead cranes, saws, grinders, crimpers, drills and saws, tools and measuring equipment.
- Fabricate/bond panels & flashings and factory glazing of doors and windows.
- Check and inspect work, and complete quality documentation.
- Prepare all completed materials for dispatch to customer in line with standard operating procedures which are project specific.
- Keep area clean, check equipment and encourage others to do the same.
- Operate as part of the pre-production facility team if and when required, completing duties to include taping, kitting and issuing accessories and metal, checking materials in and out and quality checking.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an aluminium fabricator/assembler with factory based work experience including fabrication of aluminum windows/curtain walling/shop fronts.
- Understanding of H&S requirements within a work shop environment.
- Experience of operating work shop machinery.
- Experience of quality systems and processes.
- Ability to read, understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines with a minimum of supervision.
- GCSE English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent) at Grade C or above.
- Previous experience in a metal manufacturing environment using CNC machining.
- Experience of “Lean manufacturing” processes.
