Are you an Electrical Project Manager looking for a new role with a leading tier one M&E contractor? Do you want to work on projects up to £40 million M&E? As the Mechanical Project Manager, you will be exposed to leading the team on services for projects. On a day-to-day basis, you will guide the project delivery team and participate in bid activity when required. Typical developments consist of a mixture of commercial shell & core, commercial fit out and high-end residential projects. This role will consist of managing from preconstruction of procurement, delivery, commission and handover for all M&E services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full project lifecycle (design → procurement → installation → commissioning)
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Coordinate electrical engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Review and approve electrical designs, drawings, and technical specifications
- Ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., BS 7671 Wiring Regulations in the UK)
- Monitor project costs and manage financial performance
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Oversee site installation and testing/commissioning activities
- Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Prepare reports, progress updates, and documentation
Experience:
- 5–10+ years in electrical engineering or project delivery
- Experience managing electrical installations or infrastructure projects
- Background in sectors such as construction, utilities, rail, or renewable energy
Key Skills:
- Strong project management and leadership ability
- Technical knowledge of electrical systems (LV/HV distribution, control panels, protection systems)
- Budgeting and cost control
- Contract management (e.g., NEC, JCT contracts in the UK)
- Risk and health & safety management
- Communication and stakeholder engagement
- Proficiency with tools such as: Microsoft Project, AutoCAD Electrical, Primavera P6
