Location: Carlton-on-Trent (Conveniently located adjacent to the A1 between Newark and Retford)

Position: CIS Contract (Running until December 2026)

Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Rate: Competitive / Negotiable (Depending on experience)

About the Role

JRL Group / McMullen Facades are seeking a skilled and adaptable Civil Engineer to join our team at our premier East Midlands offsite manufacturing facility. In this role, you will provide essential technical oversight, setting‑out expertise, and quality control for critical yard operations, infrastructure upgrades, and manufacturing support structures. This is a fast‑paced environment requiring a blend of precise engineering and practical, hands‑on problem‑solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting‑Out & Surveys: Accurately establish lines and levels for yard infrastructure, deep drainage networks, and concrete foundations.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee and sign off on technical elements including deep drainage installation, pipe laying, and complex concrete works (shuttering, pouring, and finishing).
  • Site Management Support: Collaborate closely with the yard manager to ensure work aligns with technical drawings, specifications, and strict safety standards.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical engineering challenges on‑site to keep operations on schedule.

Requirements & Experience

  • Qualifications: Valid CSCS card (White/Black/Gold card preferred) and a degree/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong background in setting out, deep drainage systems, and major concrete works.
  • Equipment: Proficiency with modern surveying equipment (Total Stations/GPS).
  • Attributes: Reliable, highly organized, and possessing the strong communication skills needed to coordinate effectively between manufacturing and ground teams.
