An exciting opportunity has arisen within one of JRL Group's key divisions; Trent Precast Concrete Ltd. The JRL Group is a highly successful, privately owned, national construction group headquartered in North London. With a turnover in excess of £360m, the business is currently experiencing growth and as such seeks to strengthen our Precast team. Trent Precast specializes in the manufacture and delivery of structural precast concrete units based in the heart of the country in Nottingham.

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 07:00am - 17:00pm

Job Type: Full time office based.

You must have the right to work in the UK. Full training will be given to the right candidate.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with some experience in CAD technology, production planning, and product nesting for our Nottingham office. The candidate will be working as part of a small team designing projects and directly relaying information to our production team.

The applicant should be confident in working with either AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Works or other 3D and 2D CNC software provided by machinery suppliers such as Esprite. Experience in nesting DXF, STP and SAT files for fabrication is an advantage.

Role & Responsibilities
  • The role is primarily fabrication & production.
  • Coordinating within the fabrication team the issuing of fabrication drawings for our production machines.
  • Nesting production of components for our machinery using DXF, STP and SAT files.
  • Input all the job specific information in our production software (delivery dates, call offs, part number, etc.).
  • Support the planning function, managing project delivery schedule at a detailed level through to construction phase.
  • Issue detailed reports for each project including process stage until delivery of products.
  • Issuing Bill of Quantities.
  • Issuing job nesting reports including production estimated time and raw material stock needed.
  • Providing production real vs planned weekly reports.
Design Position Requirements
  • Background in fabrication design and modelling is an advantage.
  • High level of proficiency in nesting DXF, SAT, STP files.
  • Good understanding of technical drawings, construction methods and engineering principles.
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Strong planning, organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work under pressure whilst meeting tight deadlines.
  • Success in developing healthy, long term client relationships.
