Overview
Spearheading the JRL Group from the outset, J Reddington Ltd has been an industry-leading groundwork and reinforced concrete (RC) frame specialist for over two decades. Building on a proven track record, the company is increasingly delivering complex and large-scale projects nationwide. Due to continued growth, we are recruiting a Project Engineer with strong RC Frame experience to join our expanding team.
Role & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering structural packages, managing technical coordination, overseeing temporary works, and ensuring effective design interface management across substructure and superstructure works.
Temporary Works & TWC Responsibilities
- Appointment and execution of Principal Contractor – Temporary Works Coordinator (PC–TWC) duties
- Coordination and management of all Temporary Works activities across multiple contractors and work packages
- Collation, review, and monitoring of Contractors’ Temporary Works registers
- Chairing and contributing to regular Temporary Works coordination meetings
- Ensuring compliance with Temporary Works procedures and industry best practice
- Planning, undertaking, and recording regular Temporary Works inspections, including:
- Hoarding systems
- Scaffolding
- Edge and hole protection systems
- Associated temporary works installations
- Propping / removal / installation sequencing
- Retained structural elements in demolition areas
- Back-propping strategies
- Temporary stability solutions
- Assessment and review of existing structural conditions where temporary works interact with retained structures
Structural & Design Interface Management
- Managing the design interface between demolition cut lines and existing structures
- Managing the interface between existing and new structures, including:
- Primary member interfaces
- Connection detailing
- Structural strengthening works
- Load transfer considerations
Requirements
- Civil Engineering or Construction-related degree (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience
- Demonstrable experience delivering substructure and superstructure packages, particularly concrete / RC frame structures and basements
- Strong technical understanding of structural behaviour and construction sequencing
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Ambition to progress into a Project Management role
