Trent Precast specializes in the manufacture and delivery of structural precast concrete units based in the heart of the country in Nottingham.
Class 1 (HGV) Drivers Required: Tramping Positions
Locations: Elstree | Biggleswade | Sheerness | Nottingham | Birmingham | Peterborough | Newark
We are recruiting experienced Class 1 drivers to join our construction logistics operation. Positions are available for tramping drivers, with competitive hourly rates, guaranteed minimum shift pay and a comprehensive benefits package.
The Role
- Operating predominantly flatbed trailers
- Transporting a mix of construction products, including precast concrete, steel, containers, formwork and scaffolding, and facade panels
- Securing loads by strapping, so previous experience of load restraint is required
- Tramping positions, with multiple nights out available during the working week
- Full Time position
Pay
- Monday to Friday: £19.00 per hour, flat rate, with a minimum 10-hour shift.
- Saturday and Sunday: Enhanced Rate £21.00 per hour, with a minimum of 10 hours paid.(Applies to Hours worked.
- Night out allowance (tramping drivers): £22.50 per night.
- Parking Fees (tramping drivers): Reimbursed through expenses and repaid weekly.
- Full Time PAYE Position
- Company mobile phone provided, or a £15 per month contribution for personal phone use
- Salary sacrifice pension scheme
- Full uniform provided
- 28 days’ holiday (pro rata)
- Death In Service Cover After 1 Years Service
Requirements
- Valid Category C+E (Class 1) licence and Driver CPC
- Valid digital tachograph driver card
- Proven experience with flatbed trailers and strapping of loads
- Willingness to work away from home during the week (tramping positions only)
