The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Location: Head Office (Hyde Road, M12 6JS). Flexibility to travel to other depots; Wythenshawe, Tameside and Sharston.

Hours: Full-time permanent contract 38 hours per week (flexibility required to align with operational needs).

We are recruiting for a new position of Transport Safety Business Partner to join the Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) Team, reporting to the Head of SHEQ and collaborating with other SHEQ Business Partners and specialists. The role's primary focus is to reduce collisions, costs, and improve driving standards across the organization in a results-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise Metroline Manchester on Transport Safety to support compliance and foster a positive safety culture.
  • Assist staff, managers, and senior leaders on Transport Safety matters within your competence.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders such as TfGM to work collaboratively.
  • Conduct Drugs and Alcohol tests as required, especially after incidents.
  • Record and maintain incident/collision data accurately and display it at sites.
  • Retrieve CCTV data from vehicles involved in incidents and assist emergency services.
  • Report safety performance and KPIs regularly to senior management.

About you:

  • Chartered Member of IOSH or working towards it.
  • Qualified to conduct Driving Assessments to BTEC standard, accredited by the Driving Standards Agency.
  • Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation.
  • Understanding of Company PCV requirements and legislation, including disability awareness.
  • Experience managing Transport Safety in a large organization.
  • Experience implementing SHEQ management systems to meet statutory obligations and minimize risks.
  • Skills in data analysis and senior report writing to evaluate safety performance.
