Our client, a global leading container shipping company, which provides customized services for different types of cargo including container cargo (dry, reefer, and special cargo) and bulk cargo for raw materials, oil, and plants, is recruiting for a Trade Coordinator to join their team and offices within the Docklands area of London.

Main Purpose of the Role:

Working for a leading container shipping company and reporting to the Trade Supervisor, the role is responsible for responding to Commercial and Trade inquiries, assisting and guiding local teams using available guidelines and strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Trade Coordinator:

  • Respond to requests for freight rates and trade inquiries within an efficient time frame.
  • Support the local office commercial functions within assigned geographical areas.
  • Closely monitor assigned areas’ performance versus their KPIs.
  • Implement management strategic objectives within assigned areas.
  • Complete tender documents and reports as required.
  • Maintain close liaison with colleagues and consultation with EHQ Trade Supervisor.

To Be Considered for the Trade Coordinator:

  • Proven experience working directly for a container shipping line.
  • Networking ability at various levels both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimal intervention.
  • Shipping experience at HQ or EHQ level with pricing or commercial knowledge is preferable but not necessary.
  • Reefer & special equipment pricing skills are beneficial.
  • Ability to make commercial decisions is essential.
  • Good level of education, A level or equivalent as minimum requirement.
