Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.
Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.
The new team has three locations. Audi’s Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group’s Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Sauber Motorsport Technical Center, UK will be operational this year. The Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations.

Your mission:
- Lead the development of the vehicle simulation tools and methods used throughout the company.
- Lead the development of the underlying numerical and optimization methods.
- Research, develop, and implement state-of-the-art simulation methodologies to aid in the optimization of vehicle performance and vehicle development.
- Lead the development of automated model correlation and testing routines.
- Responsible for optimizing the computation efficiency and robustness of all simulation tools.
- Contribute to the development of the vehicle physics model.
- Prepare documentation and presentations for software users and technical management.
- Coordinate and communicate development priorities with other departments.
- Define group skills targets/matrix and implement development plans.
- Define and implement processes to ensure quality of released software.
Your profile:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
- Extensive experience developing simulation models and tools, ideally within Formula 1 or another high-level motorsport environment.
- Previous management experience would be beneficial.
- Strong coding in C/C++ and good knowledge of C#, Python, Matlab, Simulink, and/or Modelica would be advantageous.
- Expertise developing simulation software and solving computational engineering problems.
- Expert knowledge of numerical methods and optimization methodology.
- Expert in developing lap time simulation tools and methodologies.
- Strong background in many of the following areas:
- Optimization methods.
- Numerical methods and analysis.
- Mathematical modelling and simulation.
- Simulation methodology development.
- Computational efficiency.
