Senior R&D Tax Consultant
We are looking for an ambitious R&D Tax Consultant to join our industry-leading client. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a firm offering an outstanding workplace culture and some of the most attractive benefits on the market!
Salary: Up to £65k + bonus
The role
- Identifying qualifying R&D activities and expenditure through participation in technical & financial discussions with clients for new and repeat claims.
- Leading R&D discussions/workshops with clients, explaining the definition of R&D for tax purposes and providing sector-specific examples of qualifying activities.
- Managing client & stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.
- Proactively identifying risks in claims.
- Compiling technical & financial project reports to illustrate eligible activities supporting R&D claims with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Project managing the day-to-day aspects of claims, setting timescales, and communicating confidently with clients about judgments and implications.
- Formulating initial responses to defend claims during HMRC R&D enquiries.
- Developing your knowledge in R&D tax relief and related issues to stay updated in this evolving field.
Skills and personal qualities:
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in the R&D Tax industry.
- Financial and technical background preferred.
- Strong project management skills.
- Stakeholder management experience.
- Logical, inquisitive, and problem-solving mindset.
- Strong commercial awareness and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of HMRC report requirements.
- Interest in shaping your career within R&D Tax.

- Ability to deliver innovative solutions to complex challenges.
