About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice and representation on adult social care matters to Council Members and Officers.
- Lead and manage a diverse caseload, drafting complex legal documents and preparing instructions for Counsel.
- Offer legal guidance on major council projects, ensuring compliance and risk management.
- Represent the Council at meetings, committees, and panels, delivering procedural and constitutional advice.
- Support and mentor junior legal team members, deputising for the Principal Adult Social Care Lawyer as required.
- Keep abreast of legislative changes, case law, and policy updates, delivering training sessions to internal teams.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
About You
- A Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
- Significant post-qualification experience in adult social care law.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
