Nord Group is partnered with a prestigious investment bank based in Glasgow, who are looking for a Senior Java/Scala Developer, to join an exciting programme within their Treasury, Planning & Capital Technology team.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop efficient server-side components.
2. Engage directly with business users for requirements and solutions.
3. Assist team members in design and development.
4. Collaborate on risk mitigation and issue escalation.
5. Ensure code quality through standards, reviews, and testing.
6. Contribute to cloud migration for the Treasury platform.

Requirements:

1. 3-5 years software development experience.
2. Hands-on experience with Java, Scala, Spark, Beam, and SQL (Sybase).
3. Strong understanding of multi-threading and high-volume server-side development.
4. Familiarity with Snowflake, PowerBI, and cloud platforms (plus).
5. Good architectural knowledge and enterprise design patterns.
6. Basic knowledge of Unix and Azure Cloud Technologies.
7. Excellent communication, teamwork, and analytical/problem-solving skills.
8. Eagerness to learn the business domain and partner with stakeholders.
9. Bachelor\’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
