Senior Engineer Powertrain – Functional Safety Vehicle Motion, Dartford Client: Location: Dartford, United Kingdom Job Category: Other EU work permit required: Yes Job Views: 1 Posted: 04.06.2025 Expiry Date: 19.07.2025 Job Description: Senior Functional Safety Engineer – Vehicle Motion Location: Leamington Spa Contract: Initially 6 months, outside IR35 Working pattern: Hybrid *Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, ongoing, and valid eligibility to work full-time in the UK and travel within the EU.* Position details and responsibilities: Deliver ISO 26262:2018 work products specified within the Functional Safety Plan for Vehicle Motion, including Chassis and Powertrain. Maintain all ISO 26262:2018 work products for assigned items, including Item Definition, HARAs, Functional Safety Concepts, and Requirements. Develop and execute Integration, Verification, and Validation test specifications and related documents. Develop all planned ISO 26262:2018 work products up to and including the Safety Case. Conduct technical discussions with suppliers and partners. Coordinate multi-party activities for synchronized delivery and testing per the Development Interface Agreement (DIA). Implement mitigation strategies when plans deviate and build a network of experts for complex issues. Nice to Have: Masters in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic or Automotive Engineering, or equivalent industrial experience with a Bachelor\’s degree. Minimum of 3 years of functional safety experience in chassis and/or electrical powertrain domains. Experience creating ISO 26262:2018 Parts 3 and 4 work products, especially FSC/FSR, ITS/ITR, and SGVP/SGVR. Experience in Integration, Verification of FSRs, and Safety Goal Validation. Experience managing suppliers under a Development Interface Agreement. Articulate, self-motivated, approachable, and eager to learn. Pro-active problem-solving attitude. Why work through Contechs?
