This is a contract role inside IR35, based in Swindon, requiring 2-3 days onsite per week. The Senior Creative Retoucher is responsible for pushing creative and technical boundaries, supporting the graphic communication of marketing materials across all media types globally. The role involves simple to complex photorealistic retouching of high-end product stills, room-set/location lifestyle, and beauty imagery.
You will lead visually and creatively, setting high standards and crafting beautiful images that communicate our client’s engineering obsession. Your software skills should be innovative, with workflow and pipelines implemented skillfully to produce exemplary final outputs. Working independently or within teams, you will use your initiative, dive deep into briefs, and communicate fluently with both commercial and creative teams.
The role offers significant creative input, with proactive development of your own work and collaboration with Art Directors, Team Leaders, and the Head of Art at key stages of image creation. As a senior member of the team, you will demonstrate high initiative and a commitment to team success. Flexibility, adaptability, and a culture of knowledge sharing are essential, fostering skills development and mutual learning.
You should have mastery of your production and post-production tools, with a fundamental understanding of what makes a successful image—light, form, surface texture, and colour—used effectively for maximum impact. Your portfolio should showcase mastery, innovation, and attention to detail, demonstrating breadth and depth of interest in art.
Core skills include:- Compositing: Excellent skills in combining visual elements seamlessly, managing assets from various 3D and 2D packages, and understanding real-world light behavior for photorealistic imagery.
- Retouching: Subtle, realistic, and sympathetic retouching skills, with a keen eye for colour and detail. Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and other Adobe CC applications, with knowledge of RGB to CMYK workflows.
