Due to continuing international growth, ROVOP Inc. have an exciting opportunity for ROV Pilot Technician, at all levels, to join us on a permanent basis. We currently have a number of global projects extending to 2024 and beyond, on dedicated schedules.
Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Observe safe working practices and adhere to electrical principles and industry standards.
- Communicate with team members, client and onshore management effectively.
- Have an active role in the completion of task risk assessments and toolbox talks.
- Adhere to all ROVOP policies and procedures.
- Assist ROV Supervisor to problem solve and conduct project in a professional manner.
- Responsible for the completion of all pre and post dive checks.
- Undertake launch and recovery operations as instructed by Shift Supervisor.
- Complete fault-finding tasks effectively with no supervision within an acceptable time frame.
- Responsible for ensuring constant communication with nominated deck personnel during launch and recovery procedures.
- Understand and ensure the full scope of work is undertaken and all relevant supporting documentation completed.
- Identify all navigational aids and ensure they are fully operational.
- Responsible for ensuring all preventative and general maintenance is carried out.
- Fully understand the ROV operational and system manuals.
- Mentor ROV trainees as required.
- Responsible for system inventory updates.
- Pilot ROV independently and in most environmental conditions.
- Perform navigator and log keeping duties.
- Complete and submit written technical reports at the end of each offshore cycle relating to all aspects of the project and technical repairs carried out.
- Strive to learn new technical and operational issues while on the job.
- Good knowledge of 3rd party tooling and sensors and able to integrate and fault find accordingly.
- Able to supervise teams if required to do so.
Successful candidates will have experience in the operation of one or more of the following:
- Triton- XLX and XLS systems
- Seaeye - Panther, Cougar and Tiger systems
- Sub-Atlantic - Comanche and Mohican systems
You will also hold a valid competence certificate (in line with IMCA guidelines), BOSIET and offshore medical. Full GWO (preferable). Preference will be given to candidates also holding valid HV certification, a second passport and valid seaman’s certification/books.
