We are looking for a driven and experienced Technical Manager to lead our client\’s research group, guiding projects in video and point cloud compression, AI/ML applications, and algorithm optimization for performance and visual quality. Responsibilities: Leadership: Manage daily activities of the Research Group, ensure project delivery, team performance, and recruit top talent. People Development: Mentor and develop engineers through regular 1:1s, objectives, feedback, and addressing concerns. Technical Leadership: Lead algorithm and software design for data compression systems, guiding your team in developing innovative solutions. Documentation: Maintain technical documentation, including reports, white papers, and IP capture. Process Improvement: Enhance research processes and tools to improve efficiency and quality. Background and Experience: Passion for research and advancing technology in a dynamic environment. Pragmatism with hypothesis-driven innovation and rapid MVP delivery. Experience in data compression solutions, AI/ML technologies, and C++ development. Proven leadership and mentorship skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to thrive in an innovative, cross-functional environment. Deep understanding of data compression technologies, quality metrics, and color spaces. Experience with the software development lifecycle and collaboration across teams. Proficiency in Python and C++. Experience with parallel processing programming. Knowledge of standardization processes and organizations. Beneficial to have: Knowledge of Visual Quality assessment techniques. Experience with TensorFlow, visual AI, or multimodal Generative AI.
