Cpl is collaborating with a growing beauty and skincare company with a large customer base, including high street retailers worldwide, online fashion retailers, and licensed products. The focus is on colour cosmetics, skincare, hair care, body care, and fragrances.

The company seeks a Regulatory Technologist to join a rapidly expanding, energetic team in Northwest England. The role involves designing and manufacturing private label and branded cosmetic products from concept to delivery. The regulatory team ensures compliance and high standards of quality and commerciality. The role collaborates closely with Brand, NPD, Manufacturing, Laboratory, and Commercial teams to provide technical expertise for new formulations and portfolio maintenance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Assess and ensure cosmetic product compliance with national and international regulations. Meet customer requirements, including standards from The Vegan Society, Cruelty Free International, and RSPO. Prepare, review, and submit regulatory documents to authorities. Stay updated on legislative changes affecting the cosmetics industry.
  • Documentation and Submissions: Maintain regulatory policies for global product compliance, including Cosmetic Product Information Files (PIFs), claims, and CPSRs. Develop and manage technical files for regulatory submissions. Ensure accuracy and currency of scientific and legal documentation.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with product development, quality control, and research teams for data collection. Advise on regulatory requirements for new and modified products. Respond to regulatory agency requests for information.
  • Strategic Planning: Conduct impact assessments for product changes. Manage global regulatory horizon scanning to prepare for future changes. Develop strategies to mitigate regulatory risks and facilitate product launches.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in audits to ensure regulatory compliance. Keep detailed records of regulatory activities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in cosmetic regulatory affairs, preferably with global exposure.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Experience with labelling and artwork.
  • Experience managing NPD activities in global markets.
  • Strong confidence in the cosmetics market.

Candidates must have prior cosmetics and beauty experience and be able to work on-site five days a week. The role does not offer sponsorship; candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
