Location: Hybrid | Reading (3 days in office, 2 days WFH)

Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday

Holiday: 24 Days + Bank Holidays

The Role

As a Project Buyer, you’ll be responsible for sourcing goods and services both domestically and internationally to meet project demands. You'll play a key part in contract negotiations, cost analysis, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. Your work will directly contribute to delivering value and margin through smart, strategic sourcing.

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with the Procurement Manager and team to manage purchasing requisitions
  • Source products globally, ensuring best price, quality, and delivery
  • Negotiate contracts and terms, aiming for continual business savings
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships
  • Research new suppliers and innovative product streams
  • Align purchasing activity with company strategy and value creation goals
  • Collaborate with Accounts and other departments to resolve invoice, pricing, or delivery issues
  • Monitor and report on supplier performance and risks
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and HS&E procedures

About You

  • 3+ years in a buyer role within construction or manufacturing
  • Strong negotiation and commercial skills
  • Confident in supplier relationship management
  • Detail-oriented with solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Able to read technical drawings and manage procurement software (Excel and Sage)
  • Excellent communicator and a team player
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • A full UK driving license is required
  • Working toward CIPS qualification is a plus
