Job Description:

Procurement Manager | Manufacturing, Capital Projects, Engineering | £60,000 – £70,000 + 10% Bonus | Leading Energy Organisation | Surrey or Manchester

This globally renowned energy & engineering giant seeks an experienced Procurement Professional with a background in engineering/manufacturing environments to join their procurement transformation.

The Procurement Manager will develop and implement effective procurement strategies across Capital and Engineering as they look to move towards best in class.

As a Procurement Manager for Capital & Engineering, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Develop sourcing strategies in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholder groups, ensuring the delivery of goods and services that meet quality standards while being cost-effective.
  2. Manage end-to-end procurement processes across Capex, Engineering Services, and Major Projects related spend, identifying supplier initiatives and fostering strong relationships to optimize spending.
  3. Oversee key supplier relationships by conducting regular reviews and audits, ensuring contract terms are met, and maximizing value from each supplier partnership.
  4. Partner with senior stakeholders to enhance the impact of procurement activities and act as a point of escalation for any supplier-related issues or concerns.

Experience Required:

  1. CIPS or MCIPS qualified. Degree or equivalent qualification.
  2. Strong procurement experience across Capex, Major Projects, and Engineering Procurement.
  3. Ideally an industry background within Energy, Chemicals, Manufacturing, Civil Engineering, etc., or related field.
  4. Strong experience in end-to-end procurement and the ability to improve operational efficiencies, reduce risk, drive best in class procurement, and achieve cost savings.
  5. Strong stakeholder management and SRM experience, with strong influencing and communication skills.
  6. Ability to present to senior leaders, preempt questions, and inform decisions.
  7. Analytical proficiency with a solid understanding of commercial/contract risk.
  8. Experience working in a matrix environment, dealing with both complexity and ambiguity.
  9. Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable with complex problem-solving.
