Job Description:

AFC Wimbledon Women are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Physiotherapist, Sports Therapist, or Sports Rehabilitator to join their Medical department. The role involves working with elite female footballers at Tier 3, providing physiotherapy and rehabilitation services for the 1st team and pathway players.

The successful candidate will work within a Tier 3 women’s football club, covering physiotherapy and rehabilitation for players, including occasional involvement with pathway players. Flexibility to work various hours, including weekends, midweek sessions, and occasional overnight stays, is required.

This is an excellent opportunity for proactive individuals passionate about football, offering internal CPD opportunities and a chance to stay current with the latest literature and practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide emergency first aid during training and matches
• Conduct clinical assessments of injured players before games
• Maintain detailed injury and treatment records, uploading them to our platform
• Communicate regularly with coaches, strength and conditioning staff, and players regarding injuries and availability
• Participate in in-house CPD sessions
• Support junior therapists within the women’s pathway
• Ensure compliance with club policies on health and safety, equality, safeguarding, and confidentiality

Qualifications:

• BSc degree in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
• HCPC/BASRaT/SST registration
• In-date EMFAif qualification (and commitment to annual reaccreditation)
• Willingness to work with high-level athletes, including injury management and rehab planning
• Medical insurance suitable for treating semi-professional women’s footballers
• Ability to play or participate in football at a high level
• MSc in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation is preferred
