You will be part of the Buy-out and Wind-Up Transaction Services team, coordinating with stakeholders and advisers. Responsibilities include delivering expert advice, building relationships, supporting project management, and mentoring junior team members. The ideal candidate will have experience in pension scheme consulting, actuarial work, scheme management, or with insurers on buy-out transactions. A strong understanding of pensions management and client-facing experience are essential. Exposure to business development and broader pensions consulting is a plus. You will work with specialists in pension wind-up and have team support for each scheme. Key responsibilities include: Leading buy-out and wind-up projects, acting as the main contact for trustees and coordinating stakeholders. Providing strategic oversight during scheme wind-up planning and execution. Supporting technical and strategic aspects such as scheme and insurer comparisons, lump sum exercises, funding reserves, and surplus sheets. Identifying potential wind-up cases and assisting in endgame strategies. Contributing to the development of wind-up propositions and sharing best practices. Delivering client training sessions. Managing project budgets, timelines, and service agreements with clients. Ensuring clear communication for smooth project delivery and understanding client needs. Preparing and submitting client invoices. Skills and Qualifications: Qualifications: Professional qualification in pensions (e.g., APMI, AFPC, IFoA) or part-qualification. Honours Degree preferred. At least A’ level/Scottish Higher or equivalent experience. Technical skills: Experience in corporate transactions, risk transfer, liability management, sale-related pensions issues, and bulk transfers. Understanding of wider employee benefits to advise clients strategically. Experience advising UK pension schemes, e.g., Trustee Executive or Scheme Management roles.
