Optimisation Editor

The Independent is an online news publisher established in 1986, known for its innovation and independent journalism. It transitioned to full digital publishing in 2016 to ensure sustainability and uphold its values. We are seeking an Optimization Editor to join our team working the UK late shift (4pm – 1am, Monday – Friday, with some weekends). The role involves expanding our digital presence through SEO, social media, and content optimization, requiring a strong news background and experience in digital publishing. The ideal candidate will be skilled in crafting engaging headlines, editing news copy, analyzing digital analytics, and managing multiple priorities. Experience at a similar level and familiarity with our coverage are essential. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely or hybrid, with periodic training at our London HQ.
