Optimisation Editor

The Independent is seeking an Optimization Editor to join our UK late shift team. The role involves working from 4pm to 1am, Monday to Friday, with some weekend shifts. You will help expand our rapidly growing digital news brand by optimizing content for maximum reach and engagement. Candidates should have a strong news background, expertise in digital publishing including SEO and social media, and experience in editing and crafting headlines. The role requires independence, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities calmly and efficiently. Familiarity with AI applications in journalism and analytics tools is preferred. Key responsibilities include writing engaging headlines, editing news copy, and content optimization. Essential skills encompass experience in a similar role, strong journalism credentials, data interpretation, and knowledge of world events. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
